About Kentmere Club

Kentmere Club opened its doors in the 1920s, when it was particularly popular with the members who used the nearby shooting range. Since then the club has changed management several times; the current team took over in 1986. The club is set in extensive, manicured gardens, filled with trees, plants and shrubs named in Latin and English.

There are 16 en-suite rooms. The rooms are decorated in traditional English style, with chintz wallpaper, heavy curtains and open fireplaces. The Club is still a members club, but non-members are most welcome. Members receive a 20% discount on accommodation; new members must be proposed and seconded by current members. The restaurant serves local and international cuisine. Meals are served in the dining room or on the terrace overlooking the garden. Outside catering is available on request. The bar is fully stocked with soft drinks, beers, wines, spirits and cocktails. The club’s proximity to Nairobi makes it an excellent place to stop for lunch, dinner or accommodation en route to or from Nairobi. It is also convenient for company parties and functions; transfers from Nairobi are available. Activities include visits to the local coffee plantations and tea farms. Weddings, banquets, conferences and team building can be arranged.
