About Brackenhurst Conference Centre

Brackenhurst Conference Centre, set amongst the green tea fields of Limuru, is part of the African Encounter group of companies. The hotel started life in 1914 as a farm called Three Tree Farm because of the 3 tall muna trees that stood on the ridge. It became a hotel in 1927 and was renamed Brackenhurst. Shortly after Kenya’s independence in 1963, Brackenhurst became a conference centre.

There are 30 single rooms, 10 double rooms with 2 double beds, 10 double rooms with double and single beds, and 25 family rooms with double bed, single bed and bunk beds. The 4 dining rooms serve Kenyan and international buffet. Dining A seats 150 pax; Dining B, C and D each seat 30. The Coffee Shop has an a la carte menu. No alcohol is served. The conference centre has 5 fully equipped conference halls: Clarke Chaple, which seats 250 pax, Saunders Auditorium, Muturi Hall, Tea Room and Lion’s Den.

Brackenhurst has basketball, tennis and volleyball courts. Nearby forest trails are ideal for walking, jogging or bird watching. The activity centre for children is also available for Sunday school. The centre also has a clinic which serves the local community. African Encounter, a tour operator affiliated to Brackenhurst, can arrange excursions and safaris.
