This eco-lodge, on a cliff overlooking Watamu’s national marine park, has views of both Mida Creek and the ocean. The bubble concept, the first of its kind in Kenya, gives guests the chance to see the striking views from their bed.
The 3 bubbles are inflatable domes with circular, clear-sided rooms. The living and dining room has white chairs and tables, and the en-suite bedroom has a double bed. The shower is outside with views of the sea. Baobab King Suite has modern furnishings and chic design. The more spacious Imperial banda has an en-suite bedroom, living and dining room and veranda with sunbeds and seating area. The lodge also has a salt water swimming pool with Jacuzzi, and a massage room with views of the sea. The restaurant has open sides to maximise the views, and serves a creative menu including tuna tartar with fresh mango, homemade crab ravioli, spaghetti with pumpkin cream, cashew nut tapenado and tournedos of beef fillet.
Activities include dhow trips and snorkelling in the marine park; kite surfing, SUP, wakeboarding and canoeing on Mida Creek; and safaris in Tsavo. Yoga workshops and retreats are also on offer. The venue is an ideal location for weddings and honeymoons.
