About Paradise Garden

These houses on Msambweni’s beachfront opened at the start of 2021. They are affiliated to the Nice View Children’s Home, which was founded by the same family in 2000.

The 3 houses are in lush tropical gardens overlooking the ocean. Villas 1 and 2 have living room, open-plan kitchen, bathroom and veranda on the ground floor, and a bedroom on an open mezzanine floor. A daybed, set into an alcove in the living room, could be used as an extra bed. Villa 3 has, in addition, a second bedroom on the ground floor. All the houses are furnished in modern style, with grey sofas, whitewashed walls, wooden stairs and colourful cushions.

An L-shaped swimming pool is in the gardens overlooking the ocean; the open-sided poolside restaurant has a daily set menu of Swahili and German cuisine.

The Durr family came to Kenya in 1997 and founded the non-profit organisation Projekt Schwarz-Weiß e.V. They opened Nice View in 2000, and later founded a youth centre where young people who have left the children’s home can train as mechanics, carpenters, chefs and more. Many of the chefs in Msambweni’s holiday houses trained here. Paradise Garden financially supports Nice View children’s home and youth training centre.
