About Arcadia Cliff House

On the escarpment overlooking Mwalugange Elephant Sanctuary, Arcadia Cliff House has sweeping views of the sanctuary and the Shimba Hills. The house is designed to fit elegantly into the tree-filled slope; some rocks have been built into the walls and are a feature of the house.

There are 3 en-suite bedrooms in the main house, a small en-suite bedroom cut into the rock below, and a larger en-suite room with kitchenette further down. The main house has an open plan kitchen, dining room and sitting room, a spacious balcony and an infinity pool; all rooms, balcony and pool have wonderful views. The house is Lamu style, and furnished with distressed wood doors, dhow wood furniture and cream fabrics and cushions. The garden slopes down to the valley, and has a BBQ space that can also be used as a yoga platform. The house is taken on a self-catering basis; a chef can be arranged on request.

Activities include self drive game drives in Shimba Hills National Park, and walks to the waterfall and river. Visits to the school and medical centre are welcomed. Diani Beach, about one hour’s drive from the house, has water sports, restaurants, bars, excursions and a golf course.
