Kicheche Valley Camp is a founding tourist partner in Naboisho Conservancy which was established in 2010. Naboisho, meaning coming together in the language of the Maasai, is a community-driven initiative.
The conservancy, dedicated to empowering local communities, supporting a healthy ecosystem and promoting wildlife conservation, has opened up a striking new region. Kicheche Valley Camp, which was established in 2011, is an intimate, luxury bush camp. There are 6 en-suite tents, which can be double, twin or triple as required. Each spacious tent is fully insect-proof, and equipped with large beds, bedside tables, luggage racks, lounge chair, desk and rugs. The camp is personally hosted, and run by experienced staff. The cuisine is a blend of African and European dishes; meals are served alfresco or in the spacious dining tent. Activities include game drives, game walks and cultural visits to local Maasai villages.
Bush meals and sundowners can be arranged. The area is home to a wide variety of wildlife such as lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, topi and hartebeest. The highest population of giraffe in the greater Maasai Mara area is found in Naboisho Conservancy. Rare bird species include white headed buffalo weaver, northern white-crowned shrike, pigmy flacon and Von der Deckens hornbills. Kicheche Valley Camp has attained a place in Conde Nast Traveller’s Hot List of New Hotels in 2012.
