About Sentinel Mara Camp

On the banks of the Mara River, Sentinel Mara Camp is in a prime position from which to watch the animals that come to the river to drink. The owner-managed camp is in the Musiara Marsh area, the site of the filming of BBC’s famed Big Cat Diaries and Disney’s African Cats.

The 7 en-suite tents are designed in the style of traditional luxury safaris, with 4-poster beds, desks, lanterns, rugs and verandas with views of the river. Wifi and charging facilities are in every tent. The large dining tent, 2 lounge tents and campfire area have views of the river. The chef serves fresh and tasty dishes in the dining tent, or out in the bush.

The schedule is flexible and guests decide which activities they wish to do when. Options include game drives, guided bush walks, longer walks along the escarpment and cultural visits to Maasai villages. Balloon flights can be arranged. The camp has attained Ecotourism Kenya’s silver award; it has no permanent structures and is completely taken down during the rainy seasons. Through the Business for Life programme, the camp has trained over 75 people from the local communities to start and run their own businesses.
