About Mara Legends Camp

Tucked into a forest near a bend in the Olarro Orok River, Mara Legends Camp blends naturally into its environment.

The 12 en-suite tents all have a writing desk, lamps, rugs, and heavy wooden bedside tables and chests. They are adorned with traditional red Maasai fabrics and local artefacts. The double tents have 1 double bed while the family tents have 2. All tents have a veranda from which visitors can look through the forest to the river, and watch the animals and birds that come to the banks to drink. The team of staff, mostly from the local Maasai community, is on hand to help guests at all times.

The lounge and dining tent has chunky wooden tables and chairs, a natural wood bar stocked with local and imported drinks, and a comfortable sitting area. Meals can be served in the dining tent or out in the open. Sundowners are offered in the bush or around the campfire. Activities include game drives, guided game walks, bush breakfasts and cultural visits to local Maasai villages. Balloon safaris can be arranged.

The camp is eco-friendly; water is recycled using a bio-filter, waste is separated and recycled or composted and electricity is generated by solar power.
